While working on PTA I was thinking of a 3d UI best suitable for the app and worked out few half-born ideas. It was a few weeks back that I got some free breathing space from usual office works, and finally completed one of those ideas into a working prototype — “NewsBox”.
MobileWish NewsBox is a simple Flash Lite 3 application that displays news from 9 top news sites including BBC, CNN, Yahoo and is specifically designed for Nokia N97 and Nokia Xpress Music, where the navigation is controled by touch and key navigation. My focus in building this application was more on 3D based navigation rather than the content. I am sure the screenshot below will inspire some of Flash Lite developers. Once I give the application a final shape, I will soon be posting a working screen-cast of the application.
Pocket Travel Assistant (PTA) succeeded in making it into the Semi-Finalist round of judging in Adobe MAX 2009 awards. This annual global awards event recognizes the best uses of Adobe software for creating engaging experiences. Although it did not move onto the Finalist round – for me this is still something to be very proud of, as approximately 10 % of the entries only make it to this level.
